Aging Facilities
According to the Washington Business Journal the average age for GSA buildings is 50 years old. The average sprinkler pipe useable life is between 30 and 40 years without corrosion, much shorter with corrosion. How protected is the building and its occupants during an “event”? What happens if the building is required to be shut down due to FP system defectiveness?
truVUE can assess the piping system with ultrasonic technology to “see” what is going on inside the pipe to uncover unknown corrosion and potential failure points. Using this information we can provide a mitigation plan so entire facilities don’t need to be renovated at one time not only securing the continuation of essential services for the community but also saving tax payer money on full system replacement and leasing of temporary facilities while renovations are taking place.
Continuation of Essential Services
What happens if an FP system fails testing and entire facility is recommended for replacement? How are you to continue your essential services to your constituents during the replacement?
truVUE can systematically inspect the piping system to see if any piping can remain in place, what piping needs immediate attention and what piping should be monitored for future replacement and provide a mitigation plan for replacement timeline. This can save valuable funds that can be utilized for other services and maintenance, provide scheduled downtime of services or relocation within the existing facility in lieu of facility shutdown and provide a capital expenditure schedule.
